Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s here! The February Jacksonville Beardsmith Society pub night is upon us! Tomorrow at Steamworks in 5points at 8:00pm. Be there and bring your beards, mustaches, sideburns and fake facial hair. It’s going to be awesome. Remember there will be Three $15 Bar Tabs open for Best Beard, Best Mustache, and Best Handmade Facial Hair! Here’s a flyer:

It’s sarah’s birthday today. well I didn’t forget. I just almost forgot to post about it. I did remember. In fact I have a present waiting for her when she gets home!

Ok so there is a lot happening. Well maybe not but it sure does feel that way. First, the second Jacksonville Beardsmith Society pub night is approaching. I am steadily getting everything ready for that. It’s going to be a big one folks!

We’ll be getting some press for this one so let’s all get our beards, mustaches, chops and fake beards looking pretty. Need more incentive? There will be three $15 bar tabs up for grabs – one for best beard, best mustache and best handmade facial hair. There will also be regular drink specials for facial hair, real or fake. If you don’t have any facial hair, some will be provided for you – or you are more than welcome to bring your own! We are also working on getting some t-shirts made for the Jax Beard members going to competitions in March and May. We should have some samples to show at this meeting. I’ll talk about the upcoming competitions and local events at the meeting. This is going to be a great one! I hope to see you all there and remember to bring your best beard, mustache and fake facial hair!

Next thing is I have a couple art projects coming up. Kati offered me an opportunity to help illustrate a book. It’s called Things Drunk People Say. It’s going to be awesome! I’ll be illustrating five pages for that. That’s another thing that I need to get one.

Then with the Jacksonville Beardsmith Society, I’m going to be doing a Pecha Kucha on the next Art Walk on the club. I’m a little nervous about that but I know it’s going to benefit the club majorly.

Also for the same Art Walk, I’ll be showing some new art in the basement of the old library. I have one piece done for that. I need four more.

There are other things that need to get done too like get the full JaxBeard website up, get some business cards to pass out and get the t-shirts finished for the club. I also have a couple freelance web jobs that might come up so that’s cool. We’ll see how it goes.

So I totally forgot that I have an art show tonight. Glad I remembered. It’s the Are Friends Electric? Eat Your Art Out Art and Music Celebration. It’s tonight at Square One in San Marco starting about 8 or 9 or so. Not really sure on the time, but I’m sure things will be happening late. Here’s a flyer.

You should come check it out. Not sure if I’ll have anything new up or not. I haven’t really decided. I have a couple of peices that I haven’t shown and I might put them in. We’ll see. Either way it should be a fun time.

Alright so some progress has been made this weekend. Well sort of. First of all, Sarah and I had a very nice Valentine’s Day. I guess it was sort of a Valentine’s week. On Tuesday I got her flowers. Honestly, I wasn’t even thinking of Valentine’s Day, I just saw them and I thought it would be nice to get them for her. Never hurts, right? Anyway, then after Coctails and Creatives on Thursday, I got home at like 12:30 or so and was in a very creative mood, so I made Sarah this.

I don’t know it’s funny. And lately I’ve been in love with that phrase.

I’m not really sure where I heard it from, but I like it. And I think it’s a lovely thing to say to someone. So anyway, I did that and Sarah got me Final Flare which is totally sick. I can’t believe it took me this long to see this video. It’s so good. Marc Johnson’s part is amazing. Seriously.

Then Friday we went and ate at Restaurant Orsay. It was really good. The coctails were amazing. The pear jalapeno margarita was good but I really liked the French Pear, although it was kind of girly. We got an oyester sampler for an appetizer. My favorite was the Gulf Oyesters. And for dinner Sarah got the mussels and I got the rabbit. I might do another post about that another time. All around the food was good, the drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere and service was very pleasent. I think Valentine’s Day was very nice if I must say so myself.

First off, as you can see, this looks completely different than it was before. I think this is draft number 3 if I am correct. But I am finally happy with it. I might bring in the width a little bit to fit a background image but i don’t really care at the moment. Now I really just need to get the other pages in. I will have more to talk about soon.
